Account Validation Terms & Conditions of Use – for Payers (version 2022-01)

  • This service is offered by Worldline for the purpose of checking or retrieving your IBAN (International Bank Account Number) at your Bank (as defined further) to which you consented to with your security credentials and the adding of the IBAN to the SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) mandate of the party you have to make a payment to (together the “Service”).

    If you do not accept these Account Validation Terms & Conditions of Use, please do not use the Service.

    By using the Service, you - as Payer – explicitly agree that information about you and the account information service provided to your Bank is used by Worldline for the purpose of adding your IBAN to the SDD mandate, and such information can be disclosed to the payee.

    Once you - as Payer - have validated the IBAN by clicking the concerned button on the Worldline online interface, you will be deemed to have expressly given your consent and authorized the adding of your IBAN to the SDD mandate. You acknowledge and agree that you cannot withdraw or revoke your consent after this moment of consent.

    The Service provided by Worldline is free of charge for you.

  • To use the Service, you must be at least eighteen (18) , or of such age as required by the payee, with capacity to enter into legally binding contracts and must have the right to dispose of the assets available in the online Bank accounts you use in connection with the Service. You hereby confirm that these requirements are met. You confirm that you shall not use the Service for any purpose that is in violation of its agreements with third parties (including the Bank(s) used in connection with the Service) or applicable law. You are personally responsible for any and all such violations and acknowledges, by using the Service, that the use of the same does not result in any such violation.

  • Worldline may have to suspend the Service to deal with technical changes or impediments, to update the Service to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements, or if it has indications on the illegal, fraudulent or unlawful use its products, software or Service.

  • The service provided by Worldline is limited to the establishment of secure, encrypted connection to your Bank and the adding of your IBAN to the SDD mandate. 

    Complaints on the Service provided by Worldline can be submitted to Worldline via the Customer Services Department , or by using the electronic complaint form available at https://worldline.com/accountbasedpayments/complaints-en

    Worldline is not liable for any loss and/or damage to you as the result of your own fault or failures by the external parties (e.g., your Bank, your internet provider, payee, its bank or its internet provider, etc.).  Worldline cannot be held liable for business interruption, loss of opportunity, reputation, goodwill and/or revenue, as well as cost for temporary engagement of external resources. In any event, Worldline’s liability arising out of the Service cannot exceed an aggregate of 150 euros. 

  • These Terms of Use and the consent it constitutes shall be governed by Belgian laws. In case the parties would not be able to amicably settle a dispute, the courts of Brussels shall be competent to handle the dispute.

  • If any provision of these Terms & Conditions of Use is found by any court or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the other provisions of these Terms & Conditions of Use which shall remain in full force and effect. If any provision of these Terms & Conditions of Use is so found to be invalid or unenforceable but would cease to be invalid or unenforceable if some part of the provision were deleted, the provision in question shall apply with such modification as may be necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

  • Worldline means Worldline NV/SA, Chaussée de Haecht 1442, 1130 Brussels – VAT 0418.547.872, electronically reachable on  https://worldline.com/accountbasedpayments/complaints-en; Worldline NV/SA is Licensed as a Payment Institution in Belgium and duly authorized to operate as a account information service provider in Belgium. Worldline NV/SA is regulated by the National Bank of Belgium (www.nbb.be, Boulevard de Berlaimont 14, 1000 Brussels, info@nbb.be).
