FAQ for Bank Transfer by Worldline

  • Bank Transfer by Worldline is a new payment method that Worldline* is offering. This payment method allows you to pay your e-commerce shopping cart directly with your bank account without using a payment card. In the check-out you choose the payment option “Bank Transfer by Worldline”, select your bank, enter your IBAN and you will be requested to login into your online banking account to confirm the payment.

  • Yes, you can pay with any device (mobile or desktop) as long as you have an internet connection and access to your online banking. 

  • It is free of charge if a normal credit transfer is used. During the payment flow, you choose if you would like to pay by instant bank transfer or credit transfer. For instant bank transfer a fee could occur depending on your bank. By the end of 2024 a new regulation will force banks to provide instant bank transfer for free as well.

  • Yes, transactions via Bank Transfer by Worldline are processed by Worldline and are equally secure as 3-D Secure card payments and pay buttons due to strong customer authentication. 

  • No, the only prerequisite for using the payment method is that you have a bank account of one of the listed European banks (see list after starting the payment process in the respective web shop) and an online banking login to this bank account.

  • The payment will not be executed and the merchant will not be credited. The payment process will be cancelled and you have to choose another payment method. 

  • Usually your bank account will be debited during the day of your purchase or overnight. The exact time of the execution of the payment depends on your bank.

  • The payment transaction will be shown as an individual payment on your bank statement made towards Worldline Financial Services (Europe) S.A.

  • Please make sure that cross-border payments are enabled in your online banking. If this does not solve the issue, please contact your bank.

  • Worldline is currently working on increasing the number of available banks. Please check the availability of your bank at a later stage again. If your bank is not listed, please cancel this payment and choose another payment method.

  • No matter the reason the bank does not process the payment (no initiation of payment / cancelation of the payment), please contact your bank for more information.

  • Worldline will securely store and process the personal data of the payer in accordance with applicable data privacy legislation.

    Security mechanisms include state of the art encryption (AES 256) on personal data used for further processing.

    Such information include:

    • Identification data, such as the name and the country of the payer.
    • Banking and financial data, such as the bank, banking credentials, and IBAN of the payer, transaction information (such as date, time, amount, currency of the transaction) and the confirmation of the payment by your bank.
    • Information about your device and online activity, such as your IP address and device ID to the extent that it is necessary for us to deliver our services.

    We receive this information either directly from you as the payer (e.g. IBAN, IP address, device ID), from your bank (e.g. confirmation of the payment) or from the merchant you are buying the goods from (e.g. transaction information).
